It's Friday in the DC area, and it's hot, really hot...but there are storms approaching for the week-end! That means it will cool off again...or be hot and wet...which is gross...anyways..
Us Weekly is featuring Barack Obama and his wife Michelle on the cover to talk about their life and times...it's a very hamey piece about their wedding and kids...well that's nice. It's weird though...the popsicle magazines did not use to cover this stuff. This issue is replete with a quote from Jon McCain on Tim Russert and everything.....maybe higher voter turn out means more coverage in the pop culture world? Or is it just that since this election features two of the most celebrated Senators, or should one say famous in the mainstream, it is more likely to appeal to the Us Weekly demographic. Just a thought...nothing to heavy to ponder...
Also, TMZ.com's tv show ran several clips last night featuring Oprah talking about how much she loves Barack since she had not been seen recently endorsing him...although this blogger remembers it was not that long ago, it was only the Fall when she had him on her show and went out to stump for him. One must think that she pulled back because it became so clear that she had violated FEC rules by talking about him so much..on the show. BUT-TMZ talking about it that is something else....
AND finally, if you have not been watching the Stephen Colbert show, you should because they have been doing the funniest little bits with Jon McCain which I am sure are somehow offensive, but they are too funny...they are little movie shorts which feature Jon McCain giving his speech on problems in this country, doing other things..it's fun to say the least.
